The end
Hello everyone, My amazing journey, adventure or whatever it was is over, and this will be my last blog about my stay in M.B Tenerife… I am currently on the plane back to Bulgaria and thought this is the best time to write my blog in peace and be able to express my feelings. So our last week in the restaurant was amazing, the first days went as they usually do I was doing my tasks in the meat section, our last day working was Thursday the 24th of August, and for this day we took towels because we were sure they were going to throw ice water on us or something, but little did we know that they prepared much more than ice water. During the whole day, mise en place and service, they were collecting all kinds of left overs especially for us…. In the end of the service we wanted a picture so they told us “Come we will do a picture of the three of you” and as we stand for the picture they poured a big pot of all kinds of leftover food on us… after came the siphons and yes it was very funny but after we smelled more than amazing. Anyway we took a shower said our goodbyes to these amazing people and of course went for a beer after
Our sous chef asked us we wanted to have dinner in the restaurant so we can see what’s it really like, we agreed and the next day went to dinner very nervous for the price that will follow.. We got full tasting menus including the wine that accompanies each dish…. It was mind-blowing, and we realized that the food we made for six months has a completely different taste, eaten as a client and accompanied by fantastic wines at the end of our dinner we asked if we can go and say hi and in a way goodbye to the team. When we walked in everyone was super happy to see us and expected us, asked us a million questions and told us how the service was on their side… After we went to the hostess and asked her about our check and how much we need to pay, she just smiled and said that our chef and sous chef paid for all and we have to pay nothing… we were very surprised and went to give our thanks to the chefs.
Needless to say we were amazed by their generosity, but also happy, we had the perfect end to our internship. During the off days I had until my flight I just went around to by presents and arrange my documents, and say goodbye to everyone.
So my last day in Tenerife I have everything packed and ready, I am waiting for Lucas, a colleague that agreed to drive me to the airport, for which I so thankful. I am at the airport waiting for my flight and I am thinking “I came, I saw, I learned, I am happy ” Thank you for reading, I am thinking on continuing my blog, the only difference is that I will probably post once a months until it is time for the next adventure.. Bye till next time!
